Glide through the snow as we welcome back Barbara Kreisle and Cory Corbet for our CoEd Nordic Ski Class this February.

Happening Saturday, February 1, this class will guide you through the fundamentals of this beautiful winter sport led by experienced instructors. You'll learn essential techniques, from proper posture to effective gliding, ensuring you gain confidence on the trails while enjoying the breathtaking winter landscape and immersing yourself in nature's beauty.

At the conclusion of the class, join us at The Fish & Swim for delicious Nordic-inspired refreshments and drinks. Relax as we watch videos of fellow skiers, sharing laughs and stories while basking in the camaraderie of our community. 

This class offers personalized instruction surrounded by stunning winter views, community connection providing members to meet and bond with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and foundational skill building ensuring members have fun while providing them with a solid base for future skiing adventures. 

Meet Barb Kreisle, Master's Ski Coach and Nordic Expert

Barb Kreisle is a seasoned Master's Ski Coach, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience garnered from both her impressive racing background and extensive tenure as a Nordic instructor. As a PSIA-certified level 3 instructor/clinician, Barb has achieved a high level of expertise and contributed significantly to the field as a member of the PSIA Northern Intermountain Education Staff. Her coaching and instructional prowess extend across skate and classic skiing, catering to athletes ranging from recreational enthusiasts to junior competitors, masters, and elite athletes. 

Barb's dedication to enhancing skiing skills goes beyond the slopes, as she boasts a decade of experience teaching dryland ski fitness classes. Her commitment to overall athletic development underscores her holistic approach to coaching, ensuring that her athletes are not only proficient on skis but also maintain peak physical fitness. 

In addition to her coaching achievements, Barb has a notable racing history. Highlights include securing 2nd place at the Fossavagtn Ski Marathon in the Westfjords of Iceland and achieving the prestigious USA National Winter Triathlon champion title. Barb Kreisle's journey from a competitive athlete to a Master's Ski Coach is marked by dedication, expertise, and a passion for fostering excellence in the world of Nordic skiing.

Cory Corbet, Program Director, Head Biathlon Coach, and Passionate Advocate for Nordic Skiing

Meet Cory Corbet, a dynamic force in the world of Nordic skiing, currently serving as the Program Director and head Biathlon coach for the McCall Nordic and Biathlon Ski Club. 

Cory's roots in skate ski and biathlon racing run deep, originating from her upbringing in Anchorage, Alaska. Her love for skiing was ingrained from a young age, with the sport becoming a central part of her life. After earning a full-ride scholarship to Northern Michigan University in the Olympic Education Training Center, Cory pursued her college education and joined the US National Biathlon Team. Her racing journey included participation in the World University Games, World Junior Championships, and in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, culminating in her recognition as an alternate for the 1998 Winter Olympics for Biathlon. 

Since moving to McCall, Idaho, in 1998, Cory has spearheaded fundraising efforts for rifles and equipment, collaborating with Jug Mountain Ranch to establish McCall's first biathlon range. Under her guidance, the Biathlon program flourished into a highly successful team, boasting a waiting list of eager participants and a complete set of Biathlon-specific rifles for team members. 

Passionate about sharing her love for skate skiing, Cory's coaching revolves around helping athletes enhance their efficiency and enjoy the sport. Her unique perspective as both a racer and coach allows her to convey the technicalities of skiing and the joy it brings.
