Our family is originally from South Africa, and when we moved to the United States in 1987, we were drawn to San Diego, with its beaches and temperate climate that reminded us of life back home.  But deep down in our souls, the Dalzells have always yearned for the Mountain Life!

As fate would have it, a few years ago, on a scouting trip to find the perfect alpine setting, we discovered McCall and the Whitetail Club community. While we have continued to design and build custom homes in Southern California, the seed was planted, and the desire to build a collection of modern mountain homes in the wilds of Idaho has become a reality.

Welcome to the Dalzell Collection at Whitetail Club – three custom estates inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and designed to integrate luxurious, modern comforts with the rugged adventure that is McCall’s lifestyle. Eagle Basin

This custom 4,067 square foot home sits on a private cul-de-sac and boasts an architecturally Scandinavian-modern design, with views of the 3rd and 4th holes of the championship golf course, and is just a chip shot away from The Golf Shop and The Fish & Swim Club. The oversized 3-car garage is suitable for boat storage or a Sprinter van and opens up to the mud room, complete with lockers and storage cabinets for all your outdoor pursuits. In the adjacent laundry room, you will find space for a double-stacked washer and dryer, a sink, additional storage, and the all-important dog shower.

Meticulously designed to take in the surrounding majesty of Whitetail Club, the kitchen is the heartbeat of the house, with a large island that makes entertaining comfortable and functional. Double pocketing sliding windows showcase the views from the kitchen sink, ranging from the open space habitat basin directly in front to the western mountains in the distance. For those bigger occasions, the dining area takes in the 14-foot ceilings of the great room with its wood-burning fireplace that makes for a warm gathering point and leads to the large covered deck perfect for BBQs, seating and dining options, and access to the yard and the lower level.

The crown jewel of the main entry level is the primary bedroom suite with its large vanity, bathtub, shower, and generous closet. The house lives as a single-level home but easily accommodates guests and family with a lower level complete with a junior master suite on one end of the house and a bunk room and secondary bedroom on the other. With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in total, the game room is the icing on the cake and will be a natural gathering place, as it spills out onto the covered patio where you can soak your troubles away in the hot tub! All this, and you're just a quick drive to the lakefront clubhouse set on the shores of Payette Lake.

Golden Ridge

Located on the saddle of a majestic ridge and with commanding views of golden McCall ranges to the West and Payette Lake valley to the East, this homesite has it all! The single-level 5,150 square foot home has a large, flat, and useable back yard which was designed to capture the simplicity of the Scandinavian architecture combined with the strength of an Idaho homestead. The looping driveway cuts between tufts of pines and leads up to the elevated homesite with an oversized three-car garage, ready for your Sprinter van or outdoor toys. The garage opens up to a 14x13 room suitable for ski/bike/toy storage, a workshop or gym, and offers a functional dog shower. The mudroom is directly off the garage and is a great spot to store jackets, shoes, and any of your day-to-day items. From here, the kids can skip upstairs to the massive bunk room, complete with areas for entertaining and views to the North and South.

The elegant, covered walkway to the entrance of the home transports you to an unrivaled mountain sanctuary with breathtaking views of the West. The front breezeway is a natural separation feature between the 4 bedroom suites on the North side of the house and the great room, living spaces, and kitchen on the South side. On the far South side of the house is the primary suite, ideally separated from the other bedrooms by the great room, and is surrounded by lush vegetation with commanding views to the East and West. The master bathroom elevation is a showstopper. The entire back wall behind the vanity is a glass window with suspended mirrors in front of it, giving the owners the ultimate indoor/outdoor experience, all while brushing your teeth! With the great room's vaulted ceiling and all three sides of the space framed by oversized windows and sliders, this home will be bathed in natural light while offering complete privacy. The kitchen layout is highly functional and inviting, with a pantry and prep area neatly tucked around the corner and out of sight.

A wood-burning fireplace makes for a warm gathering spot, and if you step outside onto the covered porch, you can relax next to a second wood-burning outdoor fireplace under the covered porch. Golden Ridge is prime for entertaining, providing the perfect spot for the kids and dogs to roam in the flat backyard (a rarity for most mountain homes). Ponderosa Point

Ponderosa Point derives its name from the prominent, mature Ponderosa Pines that populate the landscape of McCall. With oversized windows and glass doors on three sides of the great room, this open-concept floor plan combines with spectacular outdoor entertaining.

The almost 5,000 square foot Scandinavian Modern design has an oversized three-car garage, with one bay ready for your Sprinter van, and the back of the garage opens up to a 14x13 room suitable for ski/bike/toy storage or a workshop or a gym and a dog shower of course.

The front entry acts as a modified breezeway with an 8ft wide pocketing slider that "disappears" into the wall and beckons you to explore the splendor of the Idaho wilds. With the great room's vaulted ceiling, and all three sides accented with oversized windows and sliders, this will undoubtedly be the hub of the house. The kitchen layout is both functional and inviting, with a pantry and prep area neatly tucked around the corner and out of sight. A wood-burning fireplace makes for a natural gathering spot in front of the prized Ponderosa, and once you step outside to the covered porch, you'll have access to a second fireplace to take in those early fall sunsets.

The bedroom wing of the house offers a private, primary bedroom located at the far end, with an office/gym adjacent to it, a junior master suite, and a large game room. The 4th bedroom is an oversized bunk room located on the second level above the garage at the very far end of the house, allowing for separation between the parents and kids.

Experience the serenity of being "in the country" while amenities like The Fish & Swim Club sit just moments from your front door, where you will enjoy the swimming pool, tennis, pickleball, or working out in the Indoor Tennis & Fitness Center. The Trailhead houses all the mountain bikes you will need in the summer and converts to an ice skating and Nordic skiing center in the winter. Whitetail Club members enjoy a short drive up to Brundage Resort for skiing and winter fun. Not to mention the close proximity to Bear Basin, where you will enjoy epic hiking and mountain biking all summer long!
